Nell’ambito del percorso che la Soprintendenza ABAP per le Province di Cremona, Mantova e Lodi sta compiendo a tutela dell’architettura liberty a Cremona, è centrale il riconoscimento degli elementi di interesse sottesi alla produzione artistica e architettonica di questo periodo. Il contributo si incentra sul trattamento delle facciate esterne delle fabbriche, che ancora rappresentano per la comunità l’elemento maggiormente rappresentativo del liberty cittadino. Il presente studio restituisce i dati raccolti anche grazie ai cantieri incentivati dai recenti bonus fiscali. L’intreccio tra fonti d’archivio e dati materiali restituisce le interessanti soluzioni che committenti, progettisti, decoratori e imprese mettono a punto per adeguare le architetture al "nuovo stile" principalmente attraverso l’uso di cementi decorativi e superfici decorate a graffito.

Within the work carried on by the Soprintendenza ABAP per le Province di Cremona, Mantova e Lodi to protect Liberty architecture in Cremona, a key point is the identification of the cultural interest underlying the architecural production of that time. In particular, here the focus is on the treatment of the external façades, which represents a very interesting and particular aspect. Furthermore, it represents for the community the most representative element of the liberty style.
The archival sources linked with the data collected on the restoration sites - encoureged by the recent tax relieves – illustrate the interesting solutions that clients, designers, decorators and companies develop to adapt the architecture to the new style, especially through the use of artificial stones and graffito technique.
